Dear friends, below is a note from the Goup “Vayan Solda” that Christope emailed in from Haiti:
On April 7,2009,the group”Vayan Solda” went to evangilize in a place call”Nampita”close to Lakul(Gros-Morne).  In order to accomplish a better job for the Lord we was divised into 3 groups and each group choose a corner to work.  With the help of the Lord, that day 3 people came to Christ and get saved:Inelus Catiana,Risita Garcon and Carline Garcon.
But,we have to tell you,one of them,Carline Garcon,a 25 years old women had been sick for 15 months, bound by the power of darkness, her and family spent all they have to witch doctor(borkor) and never get better. Now,they put her in corner to wait for her death.
When she saw of 4 us coming to her house, she rembered the night before, seeing in a dream 4 people was running after her and they said”Don’t be worried we just want to help you”.  When she shared that dream us we felt more confident to talk to her and pray with her and also advise her to see a doctor.  But as they are already spent all they have at voodoo her and her family can’t even effort to buy food.  Face at this sitution,in cooperation with her family we decided by faith to take her to Jolivert with us.  Then we took her to Clinic Jolivert and the doctor refered us a TB center.  Effectively, she tested positve for TB and they put her on treatment and ask us to feed her well during the treatment.  We talk to brother Christophe,he has given us rice, beans and oil like he does for Ti-Jack and we will keep her until she is finished the treatment because the nurse told us if she misses the treatment,it will be worse.
We don’t really have enough economic opportinuty to help her as we should, that the reason I share it with you,to see how you can help us to help her better. Please, help us how you can.
The pictures are 4 weeks after we take her to Jolivert. Â She couldn’t even walk when we have found her.
Madame Etienne Paul came to recieve food. She walked thru the river from Fond-du-Rock, about a mile from the Jolivert Clinic. She was standing in line with about 100 plus other people, waiting for the Saturday food distribution to begin.
Each Saturday, Christophe Velcine, with help from clinic staff and local volunteers, package about 1000 lbs of rice, beans and cooking oil. Lists of needy people were made by local pastors. Each family received one bag of food.
This Saturday morning I was on my way to the clinic to help Dr Bob do a minor surgery. I stopped and greeted the people waiting for food. Many of the people I have known for years. I gave Madame Etienne a rendovous (an appointment for Monday morning in the clinic). She is very old, extremely thin and using a big stick to help her walk.
About an hour later after finishing in the clinic, I saw her lying on the ground. I wondered what had happened. People in the crowd told me that she was so weak that she couldn’t sit or stand any longer. I heard someone in the waiting crowd say — is Miss Betty going to do anything to help her? I knew she could not wait or walk home without eating first. Dieufort, an employee of the clinic went with me to the mission house. I sent her cooked rice and bread. After she ate, she waited and left with her bag of food.
On the following Monday, Madame Etienne came into the exam room with a big smile on her face and her big stick in her hand. She said THANK you for the food!!!!
I want to say thank you to everyone that sent gifts of money to help feed the hungry, provide free medicine to the sick and help with other needs as a result of the hurricanes. Thousands saw and felt the Love and Compassion of Jesus affecting and touching them in a very personal way. God Bless you for following your hearts.
